Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
— Robert Frost (The Road Not Taken)
Frost being Frost, left us with ambiguity yet another time. But what almost all of us understand in the first instance, without having to ponder much, is that the author did not take the road which all take and rather took the one which was not used much. This talks about venturing into new ways; and trust me, my friend, it takes a lot to choose a route which has not been explored. One is not aware of the advantages of taking that path not does one know about the demerits of it; the risks which one might encounter, the fruits which that decision might reap. Mostly, people shy away from the unknown path as they fear the unknown; the comfort zone feels more alluring.
BUT, history stands witness that those who could break away from the stereotypical have made a difference to the world.
Every groundbreaking innovation, from wheel to spaceship, from scissors to computer, from paper currency to ATM, from the printing press to mobile phone, has had someone who did not believe in the word ‘impossible’. They, therefore, are known as pioneers.
Pioneering does not always mean to create something new. It can also mean to provide an upgrade to an already existing system. If we consider the days of barter system and today’s online commerce, it is nothing but an improved mode of shopping, yet it has made such a massive difference to our lives.
Coming up with an effective solution to a mindboggling problem is pioneering. That is why we have it has one of our values. At Nineleaps, there have been countless instances when people displayed the qualities of a pioneer in putting forth solutions which are unique, well-thought and effective.
Here, people take ownership of their work and when faced with a difficulty, they try to come up with as many solutions as possible. The teams are close-knit every project has an equal contribution from all members. To be precise, here everyone gets the opportunity to showcase their skills and become a pioneer in what they do.
Coming back to the lines quoted by Robert Frost,
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
we are sure that here the sigh is one of relief and achievement.
